Orange Cake with Syrup
We've all eaten that delicious cake at grandma's house in the late afternoon, right? One of the most common cakes was the orange cake with syrup.
An easy cake to make, and made even before the blender became popular, as it is made by hand and is very fluffy.
With few and inexpensive ingredients, it became popular and is currently very popular because it brings back fond memories with each bite.
Orange Cake with Syrup Recipe
INGREDIENTS – DOUGH
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup of sugar
- 150 ml of oil
- 200 ml orange juice
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 2 ½ cups of wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
**cup measurement – 200 ml**
INGREDIENTS – SYRUP
- 300 ml orange juice
- 4 heaped spoons of sugar
HOW TO PREPARE THE DOUGH
- In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar using a whisk or fork.
- Add the oil, flour, orange zest and orange juice and beat well.
- Finally, add the yeast.
- Bake in a preheated medium oven for approximately 35 minutes.
HOW TO PREPARE THE SYRUP
- Place the orange juice and sugar in a pan.
- Stir well until the sugar dissolves and bring to the boil and thicken.
- Finish the cake with the syrup on top, make holes in the cake before pouring so that the syrup gets into the cake.
