Cod Gratin with Cream – Portuguese Recipe
A typically Portuguese recipe, this cod au gratin with cream is simply sensational.
This recipe is made in large and renowned restaurants in Portugal.

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup of shredded and desalted cod
- 250 ml of cream or sour cream
- 1 Onion cut into cubes
- 4 crushed garlic cloves
- Olive oil to taste
- Salt
- Black pepper
- 2 potatoes
- Olives
- 1 tablespoon of cassava flour
PREPARATION METHOD
- First, cook the potatoes, then mash them. (If your potatoes are large, use only 1)
- Don't forget to desalt the cod. And then, display it.
- After preparing the cod and potatoes, we will start officially preparing this delicious cod au gratin with cream.
- In a pan, add the olive oil and heat on the stove, add the onion and garlic and let it brown.
- Then add the cod and mix well.
- Keep the heat low.
- Stir the cod until it is golden brown.
- At this point, gradually start adding the cream or sour cream, whichever you prefer.
- Add and stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- At this point, taste it because we will add salt if necessary.
- Also add a little black pepper, or whatever you prefer.
- Set this preparation aside for a few minutes.
- Get a dish that I can put in the oven.
- Place all this cod cream in the dish and sprinkle a little manioc flour. (Very little).
- If you have it at home, sprinkle some grated cheese on top (optional).
- Finally, put it in the oven to brown.
- If you prefer, decorate with some olives.
- Finally, it's ready to serve.
- An excellent accompaniment is freshly made white rice.
- If you have a lot of guests, increase the proportions of the recipe.
