This recipe is already a classic throughout Brazil and even around the world. If you haven't tried it yet, now is the time to indulge in a tapioca cube.
Easy to prepare and with few ingredients, this delicacy is gaining more and more fans.
This tapioca cube recipe is proof that you don't need a lot of ingredients to make a beautiful and delicious dish.
The star of this recipe is coalho cheese, produced mainly in the Northeast, cheese of rennet is loved throughout Brazil.
This little cube is soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Yum, it's mouth-watering.
REVENUE:
- 1 cup (tea) of granulated tapioca
- 1 and ½ cups of grated curd cheese
- ½ level teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 320 ml of milk
- Oil for frying
Follow-up: Molasses, Hot Sauce or Hot Pepper Jelly.
HOW TO MAKE IT:
- First, to make preparing this recipe even easier, separate all the ingredients that we will use.
- Set aside a small baking tray, as our tapioca cubes need to be a little tall, and place plastic wrap on the tray or any clean plastic you have there, and leave the tray separate.
- Now, in a bowl, place the granulated tapioca (Remember, it cannot be the hydrated tapioca that we usually make in the frying pan, it needs to be the granulated one)
- Take the curd cheese and grate it on the finest part of the grater, mine gave approximately 3 and a half sticks, I use the one from the supermarket that we normally use for barbecues.
- Add the grated cheese to the tapioca and add the salt and black pepper, mix well.
- In a saucepan, boil the milk until it boils.
- When the milk is boiling, pour in the cheese and tapioca mixture and stir well.
- Pour this mixture into the baking tray that we have already covered with plastic wrap, spread it out well with the help of a spoon, cover the top with plastic wrap, and press down a little with your hand.
- Put it in the fridge until it sets.
- After this time, remove from the refrigerator and from the baking tray, cut into small squares.
- Fry the tapioca cubes in very hot oil.
- After frying, drain on paper towels.
- If you decide to make it in the oil-free fryer, let it bake for 15 minutes at 200º (In the fryer it looks a bit like cheese bread on the inside)
Note: 18 x 18 baking sheet.
